Creating an API key on OKX allows users to access advanced features and automate trading strategies. OKX, a popular cryptocurrency exchange, offers a straightforward process to generate an API key.
With this key, users can connect their own applications, trading bots, or other platforms to interact with their OKX account. Following are a few simple steps, using which you can create your OKX API key, customize permissions, and enhance trading experience on the platform.
Please note that before creating an API Key, you need to:
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your account.
Make a deposit of any amount to activate your account.
Step 1. Login to your OKX account and click the human icon on the top right corner of your Dashboard and click "API Keys".
Step 2. Click on "Create V5 API Key" button.
Step 3. On this page choose "API Trading", set name for the API Key as "OKX", create passphrase of your own choice (copy this passphrase in some document as it is required in next steps) and add our IP address "164.92.252.132" to allow list. For API Key Permissions choose " Read", "Trade". Now click "Confirm".
Step 4. At this step security verification is required. Click "Send code" for Email and Phone verification and at the same time open your "Google Authenticator App". You will receive a code on your registered email and phone number which you have to type here and also add "Google 2FA Code" which you can get from the "Google Authenticator App".
Note: Please make sure to enter all three codes within 60 sec.
Step 5. After adding all codes click "Confirm".
Step 6. Your "API Key" and "API Secret" is created. Copy the "API Key" and "Secret Key" somewhere safe in a document and then click "Confirm".
Step 7. Now login to your TM account and on the Dashboard click "Goto API Page".
Step 8. Now from the exchange drop down list select "OKX", add "API Key", "API Secret" and "Passphrase" then click "Save". If you see the error "Please charge USDT in your account" then it means your "OKX Trading Account" doesn't have any funds available. So please add a small amount of USDT to your "OKX Trading Account" and then click "Save".
Step 9. After clicking "Save" when you see this msg "API details saved successfully" then that's It, You are now connected to our platform.
